Get Your Beach Reads On

It's Memorial Day weekend, and you know what that means in the south? It the unofficial start to summer!! So, in honor of that, here are some of my favorite beach/summer reads.

If you're looking for plucky heroines, then look no further than Three Times Lucky by Sheila Turnage. It's middle grade fiction, but it's perfect humor for both children and adults. Once you read it, you'll wish you lived in Tupelo Landing!

If you want a book that touches your heart and gives you feeling, then you'll enjoy The Curl Up and Dye by Sharon Sala. It's a sweet story of a girl moving back home and readjusting to life after loss and rediscovering yourself.

If you're looking for a summer romance that reminds of those high school years when you thought the world was your oyster, check out My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. It's a great depiction of whether or not the grass is always greener on the other side.

And, if you just want a good laugh with a relatable story line, you can't go wrong with Kim Gruenenfelder. Her stories let you know that you are not alone in those things you do, thoughts you have, and feelings you encounter.

If you're looking for some newer releases, check out GoodReads' Summer Reading blog post. They've got lists galore!
