A Court of Thorns and Roses/A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

[Preface - You should read this series. Never have I had the inclination to re-read a book before, but I will be reading both of these again!...and maybe again after that...and probably more again. So, if anyone wants to send an ARC of A Court of Wings and Ruin my way, I certainly won't turn it down. 😁]

A Court of Thorns and Roses {book one} by Sarah J. Maas
Publisher: Bloomsbury
Publication Date: May 5, 2015
Number of Pages: 416
Genre: YA Fantasy and Science Fiction
Source: Library

Summary {via GoodReads}:
When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

She thinks: I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't immediately crazy about picking up this book and reading it. My friend and coworker kept begging me thought, and I was finally convinced to read it when I realize it was a Beauty and the Beast retelling. I'm a sucker for retold fairy tales and Disney princesses.

That being said...I kind of felt meh about the book...at first. It didn't necessarily give that warm, ooey-gooey feeling, and I wanted to like Tamlin, but I just couldn't. He was too aloof and tortured for my liking. Honestly, if I hadn't known there was an ah-mazing second book that I was being begged to read, I probably wouldn't have. For serious. But, you have to read this book to understand the next, and your life and understanding of quality literature will explode.

Seriously.

Stop reading and go get this book...and its sequel.

Summary {via GoodReads}:
Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

She thinks: Why are you still sitting there reading this review????! You don't need to hear my blather on about how much this book is e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g.; you should be running to your local library or book store and getting your hands on this book. This is nothing like I have ever read in a very long time. I honestly can't remember the last time a book series has swept me away like this. Just stop what you're doing right now and GO GET THE BOOK!

This magical and yet realistic world that Maas has created will envelop and enthrall you. You'll finish the last page and immediately be sorry you blasted through it so quickly. Never fear, the fandom is here to welcome you!

And, don't worry, there are only 5 MORE MONTHS until A Court of Wings and Ruin is released!!! No biggie...
